| Def Customs is a one-man operation located in the (in)famous district of Pigalle in Paris, France, arguably the one place in Europe and probably in the world with the biggest population of guitar stores and builders.
Unique creations made one by one, Def Customs' guitars are road-ready, vintage-looking tough axes with a strong personality, one-of-a-kind look, great playability and tone. Def Customs' pride is making great instruments at an affordable price, using quality components from the best suppliers around the world.
My philosophy : I'm building guitars that the musician can take along anywhere, play, bump, scratch, USE to the max without worrying too much about making a little ding here or there - They're roadworn - or worrying about transporting them - They're light and tough !
Most of all, they sound GREAT, play and look as good (my customers say "better") as top-shelf custom shop productions of the most notorious brands and builders, at a fraction of the price.
Since I'll sometimes work on what, with all due respect, the traditional Luthier would call low grade (no AAAAA grade maple pieces on standard builds, an occasional stain or ding on a top, for ex.) and no big machine tools are involved in the fabrication process, my guitars may (WILL) show small "irregularities" that I tolerate as long as they don't alter playability or tone, so there might be a tiny woodchip here or a small offset thingie there, eventually incorporated to the build.

Although I strive to produce the finest possible instruments, I don't pursue "factory perfection".
